 This work shows a person fishing. Many people all over the World do earn their living by  engaging in the search, for food to sell to other people. Therefore, food is a great source of employment and has helped many countries reduce on the levels of unemployment.

 

 

 

"Welcome Back Home"

Food is a spring of joy and happiness. Many a times a warm welcome is awarded to a person who comes home with something to activate our stomachs. This warm welcome is an expression of inner felt joy and happiness.

Paul Ssendagire was born in 1979 and educated at Makerere, where he attained his degree in fine arts in 2002, followed by a post graduate diploma in education in 2003.  His distinctive woodcuts have earned him growing acclaim both in Uganda and beyond.

In 2005 Paul took part in the East African Printer makers Exhibition at Afri Art Gallery and he has chosen to take part in the 6th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints in Japan.  He has been a recipient of a number of prizes and awards including special prize in the 3rd Lessendra, World Art Print Annual in Bulgaria in 2004 and 1st prize in the National Olympic Art and Sport contest in the graphics category. 

Ssendagire's contributions to the 2003 Art for Abato event in Kampala included two enormously popular rocking horses, one of which one him the Golden Horse Award for the highest fundraising artwork out of a field of 36 horses.
